The Accessible Cage

Ramat Hanadiv's breeding programme for vultures grows chicks that will eventually be released into nature to bolster the diminishing native vulture population, which is in danger of extinction.
The breeding cage was specially designed for vultures with various kinds of disabilities. For instance, it has low nesting pallets which the birds can reach even if they have difficulty flying.
Five female vultures and four males, two of them 'invalids', currently occupy the cage. Since the season has begun for the birds to court and build their nests, we are hoping to see happy results in the foreseeable future: a new generation of young vultures.
