Another Star-filled Summer at Ramat Hanadiv - 9-10 August, 2017
Cinema, Nature, and What's Going On Between Them,
from 5:30-10 P.M.
Encounters with producers, circus games, creative workshops, and drummers; pedalling solar bicycles, watching films under a starry sky - the Summer Cinema tradition continues this year at Ramat Hanadiv.
Set against the pastoral background of the Memorial Gardens, with the sweet breezes that waft only over Ramat Hanadiv in August, you and your entire family are cordially invited to join us for this once-a-summer experience.
What's it like to grow up with wolves? How do you film a nature movie? Who are the film stars of the animal world? Who's that lion that roars in the cinema?
Discover the answer to these and lots of other questions when you meet the producers who'll share their behind-the-scenes experiences: filmmaker and lecturer on cinema, Alon Gur-Arye, who will reveal the stories of the most famous animals in the industry starting with Lassie, the 'girl dog' that was actually a 'boy', and on to the 'bug' that became a film hero, the rabbit Bugs Bunny.
Nadav Begim, videographer and film lecturer, will open a window into the amazing world of fantasy movies, showing how an extraordinarily hidden, enchanted world is created and documented.
Director/ videographer Eyal Bartov will share the secrets of nature in Israel through the lenses of his camera, and photographer Alon Meir will take you on a virtual tour into the natural world right outside your house.
Moshe Alpert, another photographer/director, will guide you behind the scenes of the film, A Tale of a Wolf, about 20 years of life with a pack of wolves.
And that's not all: There will also be a film workshop via smartphones, which will give you the tools to photograph everyday life. Leading it will be Liron Almog, a photographer who specializes in 'life style' photos.
From 6-8 p.m.: Activities for the whole family on the lawn of the Memorial Gardens. In between the activities you can produce energy (and use up some of your own) by pedaling on solar bikes, or participate in circus games, creativity workshops, and more.
Starting at 8 p.m.: Solar film screenings under the open skies:
On 9 August 2017, see A Tale of a Wolf, the movie by Moshe Alpert about wolves in the Golan Heights (in Hebrew).
On 10 August 2017, watch Yellowbird (dubbed in Hebrew.)
There will be a token fee of NIS 10 per/person for entrance to the activities in the gardens.
The fee for participating in the meetings with the filmmakers is NIS 20/pp.
The film workshop costs NIS 25/pp.
All participants must register for these activities in advance.
